Families Of Train Attack Victims Protest In Kaduna After Viral Torture Video

A few hours after a torture video of victims of the terrorists attack of a Kaduna-bound train on March 28 went viral, families of the over 60 passengers still in captivity, mobilized and trooped out in their numbers to protest the plight of their relatives.

The terrorists had mercilessly flogged the victims and recorded a video of the act which they later released for circulation.

The protesters numbering over 300 converged at about 2.pm on Sunday, July 24 and blocked the Nnamdi Azikiwe By-pass in Kagoro in Kaduna for hours, forcing vehicular and human traffic to a standstill.

While accusing the Federal Government of insensitivity to the plight of members of their families abducted by terrorists about four months ago, the placard-carrying protesters demanded immediate release of their relatives.

Several teams of police patrol teams led by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Unguwan Sanusi, which promptly arrived the scene had a hectic time dousing tension but eventually returned normalcy in the area.

The protesters later dispersed and opened to road for free flow of traffic after being persuaded to do so to avoid a breakdown of law and order.
