A former councillor from Ehatokpe council ward in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue state, Mr. Agbo Okopi, has been reportedly kidnapped by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
Okopi, also known as “Moscow” was said to have been abducted on Sunday afternoon while returning home from Ugene to Otukpo town.
It was gathered that the popular politician resident in Otukpo, was forced out of his vehicle along the Ai-Egaji Okete Ekwanokwu road and taken to unknown destination.
A source from the area who spoke to Journalists in Makurdi, the state capital on condition of anonymity, said the Kidnappers had not made any contact with the family.
When contacted, the Benue state command Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene, said she is yet to receive the information about the Kidnapping incident.
“Am not aware of the incident yet”, Anene said.
However, as at the time of filing this report, the victim’s abductors have not name any ransom to be paid.
