Four Nigerian women who are members of Carrington Fellowship Alumni Network have been nominated for the inaugural Women Achievers’ Award of the United States Government Exchange Alumni Association.

Mr Olusola Owonikoko, the President of Carrington Youth Fellowship Alumni Network (CYFAN), stated this in a statement on Saturday in Lagos.

Nominees are: Raquel Daniel, Anu Adelakun, Francisca Chiedu and Rhoda Robinson.

Owonikoko said the nomination was in recognition of CYFAN women’s contributions in terms of resources, influence and impact that they have had on their communities.

“They promote the ideals of good governance, civil liberties, economic empowerment, inclusive education and accessible healthcare. The Carrington Fellowship Programme of the United States Consulate, Lagos, is now in its 10th year. In commemoration of the 2021 International Women’s Day (IWD), the United States Government Exchanges Alumni Association (USGEAA) launched the Women Achievers’ Award. It is a prestigious initiative to celebrate USGEAA women achievers that have achieved great feats in their work”.

This year’s International Women’s Day provides a veritable opportunity to celebrate such distinguished ladies and their gigantic strides in the society”.
