Yuletide: Police Advise Sokoto Residents Against Keeping Large Sums of Money in Their Homes

The Police Command in Sokoto State on Tuesday advised residents of the state to desist from keeping large sums of money in their houses, especially as the Yuletide approached.

The command’s spokesman, ASP Muhammed Sadiq, who gave the advice in a statement issued in Sokoto, said the measure could help in preventing robbery attacks in the vicinity.

Sadiq said people should avoid keeping large sums of money either in their private residence or on themselves.

”This is to serve as a measure to checkmate possibilities of robbery attacks, especially as the Yuletide approaches. This measure is part of the frantic efforts consistently made by the command toward ensuring improved safety of lives and property of the residents. As such, the command under the stewardship of it’s Commissioner, Mr Ibrahim Ka’oje, hereby calls on the good people of the state to desist from the act of keeping large sums of money. This will aid the commitment of the Police toward ensuring that the period is free of crimes”.

The spokesman further assured residents that the command had employed strategic security detachment aimed at ensuring a crime-free state.

“The Commissioner of Police has enjoined residents to freely engage in their lawful businesses without any cause to panic”.
