Revealed! Identities Of 5 Mobile Police Officers Shot Dead By Bandits In Katsina

Fresh facts have emerged on the identities of the five mobile police officers killed by a gang of bandits at about 6pm on Wednesday at Gatikawa community in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State and the weapons lost to the assailants.

The slain policemen who were attached to Squadron No. 9 Police Mobile Force, PMF, kano, were on special duty in Kastina State before they were shot dead at a checkpoint.

Their identities were given as AP/No. 272783 Inspector Abubakar Ismail; AP/No. 284171 Inspector Nuhu Abubakar; AP/No. 268177 Inspector Adamu Musa; F/No. 510937 Cpl. Iliyasu Abdullahi; and F/No. 522486 PC Yahaya Suleman

While Inspectors Ismail and Abubakar were bearing Type 06 rifles as of the time they were attacked at the checkpoint, Inspector Musa and Cpl Abdullahi had AK47 rifles, and PC Suleman bore a Pump Action gun with breech number 422248.

It was gathered that the body of Cpl Abdullahi was the first to be recovered at the checkpoint, while bodies of the four others were recovered at the surrounding bushes of the crime scene.

A source told Scudnews that the bandits carted away all the weapons of the slain policemen whose bodies were evacuated and deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital Kankara.

Suspected terrorists said to numbering over 300, on Wednesday, killed the five cops and three civilians at a police checkpoint in Gatikawa, Katsina State.

The terrorists were said to have stormed the community riding on over 200 motorcycles and went to the police checkpoint where they killed the police officers and three others.

Gambo Isah, a Superintendent of Police and spokesperson for the Katsina State police command confirmed the incident on Thursday.
