Adamawa Chief Judge Inaugurates 31 New Magistrates

The Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Nathan Musa, on Monday, inaugurated 31 newly appointed magistrates with a charge to them to maintain the high standards befitting their office.

Speaking during the ceremony in Yola, Musa said that the appointees were drawn from judiciary, public and private bar.

“They are individuals who have proven themselves to be hardworking, efficient, reliable, and worthy of this appointment.

“You are expected to maintain the high standards befitting of your office.

“It is pertinent to remind all of us of the adage ‘to who much is given, much is expected,” the CJ said.

Musa charged the new magistrates to shun corrupt practices, be punctual and dutiful as well as shun actions inimical to the tenets of the profession.

“You must at all times remember the oath to which you have sworn to uphold and this should remain a guiding principle to you all.

“We on our own part will ensure that we provide a conducive and enabling environment and ensure your welfare is constantly appraised and improved,’’ he said.

In his response on behalf of the appointees, Mr. Dauyina Wathi thanked the state government for the confidence reposed on them and pledged to do their best always.
