Ninety-nine days is said to be for the thief and one day for the owner. This adage played out on Saturday November 7, 2020, as  a suspected  notorious motorcycle-snatcher whose identity was only given as Imoter received jungle justice at the hands of an angry mob.
This event happened at kilometer ten, along Apir-makurdi in  Benue state, a major road leading from Makurdi to the southern part of the country.
An eyewitness told Scudnews on Sunday that the deceased disarmed the owner of the bike  by use of a weapon.
“Thus  the owner raised an alarm for help as his Honda was snatched at gunpoint, his  continuous shouts attracted the attention of sympathizers in the neighborhood who mobilized themselves and chased after him until he was apprehended with the vehicle”.
A lady who pleaded anonymity said in similar vain, the late Imoter ,at some point, had rented an apartment in their compound but soon as they got information of his criminal lifestyle; the landlord had given him quit notice even before his rent was due for renewal and that they were not surprised when they heard of his lynching.
According to her, the deceased is aged 37-years old and was married with three kids.
He was also said to hail from Shangev-tiev Konshisha local government area of Benue State.
Attempts to get Comment from the Divisional Police officer on the matter proved abortive as several Calls and text messages put across to his mobile phone were not answered, returned or replied to.
