Benue State Government has said it is set to auction Cattle impounded from rearers who flouted the anti-open grazing law of the state; to members of the public as soon as possible.
The State  Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Ngunan Addingi made the disclosure while briefing Journalists after an EXCO meeting held on Wednesday at the state capital.
According to her, “We  gave them enough time to come and pay some fines and claim their cows but they were not forthcoming hence  the resolution was taken”.
The Commissioner further disclosed that the Benue State Executive Council has resolved to revive it’s moribund traffic-light in Makurdi, the state Capital.
she added that arrangements were ongoing, to restore Street lights at High-Level, North-Bank, Tito, Abu-Shuluwa Road as well as other parts of the capital City.
She, however, did not make mention of the contract sum and who is handling the projects.
The Commissioner went ahead to debunk claims of hoarding of palliative in its custody as being speculated in some quarters in the State. She explained that all donations of  palliative commodities were adequately distributed to the people concerned.
She assured the people of Benue state that the Federal government has concluded plans to enter into provision of housing schemes which will be made affordable to workers in the State.
Adingi, Called on Critical stakeholders to give maximum support to the Government in order to benefit from the dividends earmarked towards enhancing the well being of the people.
