Benue to Get 5, 000 Housing Units

Benue State Commissioner  for Housing, Environment and  Urban Development , Mr. Dennis Ekpe Ogbu has reiterated the resolve of the State government to partner any individual or corporate organizations willing to collaborate with it to better the state.

The Commissioner made this known while Speaking with members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists in Makurdi.

He disclosed that a group known as Habitat African initiative, Federal Mortgage Bank has entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish 5, 000 housing units in the state.

The  Commissioner explained that when erected, the housing units would go along way in providing shelter for an average civil servant as well as individuals at affordable cost in the state.

He added that a site has already been earmarked for the project, though he could not estimate the cost of the project.

It Can be recalled that the Commissioner for information and culture Mrs. Ngunan Adingi  had few days ago after the state executive Council EXCOs usual briefings reiterated hope for similar establishment.
