Leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazurike, has warned those beating drums of war in the southeastern geopolitical region of the country, saying those inciting Igbo youths into taking up arms against the nation’s security forces, are exposing them to danger.

Uwazurike, who spoke on Monday at a press conference in Owerri, Imo State, pointedly warned Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) whom he described as a “nobody” to desist from inciting youths against constitutional authority.

“Igbo cannot afford another war. Those agitating for war know they can’t defeat Nigeria but want to enrich themselves. So, they have continued to deceive our youth. Igbo cannot afford to go to another war with Nigeria and at no point should they be incited into hostilities with the rest of Nigeria.
Mobilising youths against their leaders and constituted authority is what we should guard against because we cannot defeat Nigeria”.

While urging Southeast and South-south governors to urgently checkmate the agitation for war in their respective states and ensure the zones were not turned into crisis, he warned youths in BIM which he also founded against dancing to the IPOB leader’s drumbeats of war.
.
Uwazurike asked the governors to take over the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and ensure the outfit was not deployed for mischievous purposes, but rather train and equip the operatives to work in synergy with the police and other security agencies.

He said presidential aspirants from the southeastern zone for the 2023 election should commence consultations to ensure that they stand a good stead.
