A trader who witnessed the botched business transaction said after packing the phones, Abdullahi, who went to the shop with an accomplice now at large, requested for the bank account details of the shop owner and pretended to have made a transfer of Three Million Naira to his account.

It was learnt that though the phone dealer whose name was given as Muazu Umaru actually received a credit alert for the sum at the time, it was a fake alert and the money wasn’t in his account.
