A popular shopping complex in Abuja, Prince Ebeano Supermarket, was gutted by fire late on Saturday night.
Reports said it had not been ascertained if there were casualties and property destroyed in the supermarket located at the Lokogoma district in Abuja.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Fire Service, Ibrahim Muhammad, who confirmed the incident, said “until after the fire has been put off, we cannot say if any life was lost to the inferno”.
Fire fighters from fire stations in Asokoro, Garki, Games Village and the National Judicial Institute (NJI) in Abuja, were mobilized to combat the massive fire at the supermarket, according to Muhammad.
He also said the cause of the fire had yet to be ascertained.
