Benue Youths has called on Benue State government to sponsor a bill towards establishment of Benue Youth Commission, away from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development in the state.

This decision is a fallout of the three days Youth summit which aimed at finding ways to address the agitations of the youth, organised at the instance of the Benue state government held at Aper Aku stadium, makurdi.

Presenting their position in a communique after the occasion and signed by its Chairman Irene Awuna and Peters Shakumeh respectively, the youth proposed that when established, the head of the youth commission should not be above 35 years of age.

They further expressed optimism that their agitations, expectations  and yearnings would be better handled under its own umbrella hence the need for the youth commission.

The communique also urged the Youth to shun cultism and embark on useful and legal means of livelihood.
In their opinion, they emphasized the need for agribusiness as the only solution and urged more youth to go into agriculture even as they urged the state government to always make farm inputs such as seedlings among other implements available  .
