Gunmen on Tuesday shot dead a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State, Solomon Ishaya.
Scudnews learnt that Ishaya, aged 52, was killed March 30, at about 1.am by yet-to-be-identified assailants who stormed his residence at Sabon Bwari and left with trails of blood, pain and sorrow.
Sources told our reporter that the armed men abducted the ex-PDP chairman’s wife, Ladi Solomon, after snuffing life out of him.
Police said a patrol team drafted to the scene in response to a distress call recovered two empty shells of AK-47 ammunition and evacuated Ishaya’s body to the General Hospital, Sabon Wuse, where it was deposited at the morgue for autopsy.
The state police command has assured that efforts were ongoing to track the perpetrators and rescue the abducted wife of the deceased.
