Gunmen Attack Cubana Chief Priest In Anambra, Driver Shot

Popular socialite and businessman, Chief Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, was reportedly attacked by a gang of gunmen on Friday night around Oba, Anambra State.

The gunmen suspected to be armed robbers opened fire on his convoy while in transit along the Onitsha-Owerri road at about 9.20pm, Friday August 5, it was learnt on Saturday.

One of his drivers whose identity could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report was reportedly shot on the leg in a crossfire between the gunmen and Cubana’s security details, a witness told Scudnews.

However, his escorts were said to have repelled the attackers while a team of policemen drafted to the scene from the Oba Division evacuated the injured driver to an undisclosed hospital at Onitsha.

The police said anti-crime operatives were on the trail of the perpetrators.
