The Media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has revealed how a repentant member of the proscribed Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) has contacted her saying he wants to abandon his old ways.
The President’s aide shared a portion of a private chat that she claimed to be from a conversation between herself and an IPOB member.
According to the screenshot image, the IPOB member can be seen pleading with Lauretta not to block him, saying that he had finally understood her stance against the secessionists.
“Please don’t block me”, the poorly typed text said, “I have change”.
When Lauretta then asked for the reason behind the man’s sudden repentance, the IPOB member said, “After we (saw) Ikonso’s dead body on facebook, fear (caught) us, and we (began) to change”.
According to Lauretta, the IPOB member had granted her permission to share the conversation.
