The Federal Government has handed a two-month ultimatum to bandits in Zamfara State and its environs to repent from their criminal activities and embrace peace, the state governor, Alhaji Bello Mattawalle, has said.
In a state-wide broadcast on Tuesday, the governor announced that the Federal Government has also approved the deployment of additional 6000 Soldiers to Zamfara in a bid to bring lasting peace to the state.
Mattawalle warned politicians against making utterances capable of impeding the ongoing peace process in the state, saying the government would no longer condone any act of sabotage.
He placed a ban across the state on the use of motorcycles in groups and conveying of more than two persons on one motorbike, with a directive to the security agencies to enforce compliance.
