Chairman of the Edo State All Progressive Congress governorship primary committee and governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, on Monday declared Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, as the governorship candidate of the party for forthcoming election in September.
Uzodinma said Ize-Iyamu emerged winner of the direct primary election with a total of 27, 838 votes, ahead of Dr. Pius Odubu who got 3,776 and Osaro Obaze who scored 2,751 votes, respectively.
This is however coming after a factional acting national chairman of the APC Victor Gaidom, had announced the cancellation of the primary election.
