Balogun, in a statement by the firm’s Public Affairs Officer, Mr Akeem Odusina, urged residents and businesses in the state to embrace alternative means of transportation, which he said the waterways was ready to provide.
“Today, we are very happy reaching another milestone of commuting our 100, 000th passenger on the 124th day of our operation since the commissioning of our boats by Mr Governor in February this year. We thank the Governor of the state, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his unflinching support, and LAGFERRY passengers for their patronage and loyalty. “The geometric growth of Lagos population at over 22millon asserted enormous pressures on the road transportation option with over 1.6million daily commuters. The intermodal transport means will further deepen commercial activities, and serves as catalyst to promote tourism in Lagos State”.
Mr Murtala Balogun, who was the lucky 100,000th passenger, thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for providing state of the art boats and ensuring the company adhered strictly to all safety protocols.
The commuter commended the company for providing quality life jackets and being time-efficient.
