A 32-year-old man, Mohammed Zulfaralu, on Wednesday pleaded guilty to a charge of raping a grandma, aged 85, and has been remanded at a correctional centre on the orders of a Chief Magistrates Court in Kano.
The man from the pit of hell resident at Gidan Kwana, Kwanar Dangora Village, reportedly admitted raping the old woman in November 2019, is facing a two-count charge of criminal trespass and rape. He was arrested on June 10 by the police in Kano State for allegedly raping 40 women, including the 85-year-old woman, and arraigned.
Prosecutor Badamasi Gawuna, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), told the court that one Abubakar Yusuf of Kwanan Dangora, reported the case at Kwanan Dangora Police Division in Kano.
He alleged that Zulfaralu trespassed into the home of the octogenarian who is mother of the complainant at Unguwar Rimi Kwanar Dangora, and had unlawful sexual intercourse with her, thereby committed an offence that contravened Sections 344 and 283 of the Penal Code.
The defendant, however, pleaded guilty to the charges, and Chief Magistrate Muhammad Idris, ordered his remand at a correctional centre and adjourned the case until August 1
