A 42-year-old man, Christian Obi, was on Friday arraigned for allegedly being in unlawful possession of 80 pieces of Nigerian Army camouflage uniforms.
Police said he was found with the uniforms on July 5, along Olojo Drive, Ojo, Lagos, but could neither explain how he got them, nor what he was doing with the military attires.
Christian however pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on a charge of unlawful possession.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Doney Raphel, alleged that the defendant was found in possession of 80 pieces of already sewn army camouflage uniforms and when asked why he was with them, he could not give a convincing response.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes Section 330(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. O.G. Oghre admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties each in like sum, and adjourned the case until August 24, for mention.
