The world has literally come to an end for Alhaji Abubakar Danzaba, a native of Danbaza Village in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, who lost his two wives and five children on Tuesday, August 16.

His two wives identified as Fadimatu Haruna, aged 40, and Halima Haruna, 35, as well as the five children reportedly died within a period of one hour between 4pm and 5pm on the ill-fated day.

The names of the children whose ages ranged between 14 and four years, were given as Hasana Haruna, aged 14, Abubakar Haruna, 10, Shafi’u Haruna, 8; Saifullahi Haruna, 7, and four-year-old Nana Khadija Haruna.

Residents said they all died shortly on admission at the General Hospital Maradun where they were rushed to for medical help after suddenly taken ill.

The police said food poisoning was suspected as the deceased had eaten a meal and immediately fell sick.

An investigation into the incident has however commenced, according to a senior police officer who pleaded anonymity.
