A Niger State-based businessman suffered a cruel fate on Thursday, February 10 when he left his shop to check on his two daughters at home and had a shock find.
Chukwuma Ogbulokro, whose shop is located at Keteren Gwari in Minna, Niger State capital, had left his shop at about 2.30pm for his residence at Albishiri area of the metropolis to ascertain if his two daughters had returned from school.
Moments later, he was scared stiffed and shocked to his bone marrow when he got home to find the gory spectacle of his beloved children.
His younger daughter, Chioma Chukwuma, aged nine, was stone dead, while the elder, Chisom, laid unconscious, both with injuries inflicted on their bodies.
Sadly, the perpetrators of the act left no traces as they disappeared into thin air in broad daylight and there was no glimpse of any clue from neighbours.
Perhaps, the shrill cries of the children did not attract any attention as they suffocated in pain under a grip of the cruel claws of death.
Amidst confusion and shock, Chukuma managed to immediately report the police with the hope that the harbingers of that visited his home in broad daylight to snuff life out of his two children would have a date with the law.
A police team which visited the scene of crime reportedly evacuated the body of nine-year-old Chioma to the morgue of General Hospital Minna, where her unconscious elder sister, Chisom, was also taken for treatment.
Her condition could however not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report and Scudnews checks on the whereabouts of the children’s mother drew blank.
The police said homicide detectives are puzzling over the strange crime, as investigation commenced to unravel the perpetrators and the motive.
