Murder In Living Faith Church, Police Begins Probe

Homicide detectives at the Bayelsa State police command have begun investigation into the gruesome murder of a man inside the premises of Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, at Elebele Town in Ogbia Local Government Area of the State.

The deceased identified as Egbo Anthony, was reportedly found lying in a pool of his blood within the church in the early hours of Wednesday, August 10.

An Assistant Pastor of the church, Mr. Currency Samson, reportedly made the shocking find when he went to the church for morning prayers at about 5.40am and reported the incident to the police at Kolo Station two hours later.

Anthony, aged 40, was said to be a security guard in the church and the unholy act was committed while he was on duty.

There was however no indication that any item was carted away from the church by the assailants.

The police are puzzling over the motive behind the crime, just as investigations have been intensified to uncover the perpetrators.

A source who does not want his name mentioned said Anthony’s body has been deposited in the morgue at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa for autopsy.
