An NGO, Tingo Group, is to support the Federal Government in tackling social security challenges by investing in technology.
Mr Dozy Mmobuosi, Group Chief Executive of Tingo International holdings, disclosed in his address during a Webinar on the importance of technology to curb social security and health issues .
”The world has gone digital and nations are investing huge resources in technology to enable governments to achieve meaningful growth. We will provide over 10,000 farmers with digital phones on credit with payment plans that will be suitable and sensitive to meet current situations. Tingo group is using technology to solve major social, health and security problems in Nigeria”.
He also said the Tingo Health Remit Care programme, will be accessible to Nigerians for as little as 12 dollars, to enable families and friends to have guaranteed access to first class medical care, whenever and wherever they need it.
“Tingo Health is the world’s first health care remittance service, developed to tackle challenges affecting healthcare delivery in Nigeria, through partnership with private medical centres at affordable private healthcare cover in-collaboration with health insurance companies”.
On security, he noted that the organisation would work closely with state governments to install CCTVs across major streets.
“This is our goal and we will soon be rolling out our master plan to collaborate with the government, security agencies and non-governmental organisations to ensure a safe and stable Nigeria. Another technological advancement the company is using to strategically position Nigeria in the global map is the Tingo Remit, which is born out of a vision to ease the process of sending money abroad. To provide effective means to transfer money online anywhere around the globe at affordable cost within a short time, because technology ensures national security and social stability”.
He revealed the organisation’s strategy would boost its “Nwassa programme” designed to provide platforms for Nigerian farmers to also benefit from such technology.
He explained that when the plan is fully implemented,Tingo Nwassa, would enhance platforms for African farmers to access global markets and secure more competitive pricing for their crops.
