The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested 27 suspects alleged to have been involved in different criminal activities in the area.
The state Police Commissioner, Bola Longe disclosed this on Monday, while parading the suspects at the Command Headquarter in Lafia.
The Police Boss who explained that 21 of the arrested persons were robbery suspects,said the remaining Six were kidnappers, among whom is the gang leader that abducted the Nasarawa State Chapter Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Joseph Masin.
Longe added that the suspects were arrested at different locations in Nasarawa, Karu, Keana, Toto, Obi and Akwanga Local Government Councils.
He said items such as 7 firearms, some ammunitions, a vehicle and 14 handsets were recovered from the suspects.
According to him the suspects will made to face the Law of the Land on completion of Police investigation.
He called on people of the state to cooperate with the police by giving useful information that would help them to locate and apprehend criminal elements in their areas.
