Senate Confirms Mahmood Yakubu for Second Tenure as INEC Chairman

The Senate has on Tuesday, confirmed the appointment of Professor Mahmood Yakubu, for a second tenure as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
His confirmation followed the consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on INEC, led by Senator Kabiru Gaya, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kano South which submitted its report at plenary and recommended Yakubu for confirmation for another five years. The Senators who spoke before his confirmation described him as apolitical and highly qualified for the job.
