President Bola Tinubu has directed the provision of medical treatment and relief resources for injured and surviving victims of the vicious attack on 15 villages in Bokkos and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas in Plateau State on Christmas Eve, in which 96 persons were killed and 221 houses burnt by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
Tinubu who described the act as heinous and brutal, ordered security agencies to immediately move in, scour every stretch of the zone, and apprehend the culprits.
While condoling with the Government and the people of Plateau State, President Tinubu assures Nigerians that the harbingers of death, pain, and sorrow will not escape justice, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, said in a statement on Tuesday.
Part of the statement reads: “President Bola Tinubu strongly condemns the heinous and brutal attacks in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State, which resulted in the tragic loss of many lives.
“President Tinubu directs security agencies to immediately move in, scour every stretch of the zone, and apprehend the culprits.
“The President also directs immediate mobilization of relief resources for surviving victims of the primitive and cruel attacks as well as medical treatment for the wounded”.
In Bokkos Local Government, the villages attacked Ndun, Ngyong, Murfet, Makundary, Tahore, Garba, Dares, Meyenga, Darwat, Butura Kampani, Chiang and Tamiso, where 79 persons were killed, while three communities were invaded in Barkin-Ladi Local Government and 17 villagers murdered in cold blood. 27 motorcycles and 10 vehicles were also burnt in the attack.
