A Junior Secondary School (JSS3) female student of Ajagbe Community High School, Iperu, Ogun State, had a horrible encounter at school on Tuesday, June 15.
Aged 15, Sulaimon Ayomide was reportedly gang-raped by some of her male schoolmates in a bush within the precincts of the school while classes were ongoing.
Sources told Scudnews that as the illicit act was being committed, a male student identified as Amosun Sunday allegedly watched out to protect the perpetrators as they took turns in defiling the victim.
It could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report how the girl was lured out of class by her schoolmates and gang-raped.
However, it was learnt that the Principal of the school, Mr. Okunmuyi Olayinka, reported the incident to the police at about 3.pm after the close of school.
The victim, who was said to have been discovered in bad shape, was reportedly rushed to the General Hospital Iperu for medical examination and treatment.
Confirming the incident, a police source who pleaded anonymity said four suspects have been arrested and efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects.
One of those arrested was identified as Oduwaye Qudus.
