150 ATM Cards, 7 POS Machines, AK47 Rifle Recovered From Suspected Female Kidnapper, 2 Others

A 21-year-old girl is singing like a canary in police custody in Makurdi, Benue State capital after she was arrested alongside two others by men of the Operation Zenda Joint Task Force, JTF, surveillance team.

The operatives picked up Ms Ejeh Mariam, Michael Dickson Orinya, aged 19, and Ebia Omirigwe, 25, allegedly at a hideout for kidnappers around Welfare Quarters, Achusa Road, Makurdi on Monday, May 20.

Scudnews learned that the operatives stormed their hideout at about 12.30am following an intelligence report on their activities and reportedly came under gunfire by members of the gang one of whom was neutralized.

Items allegedly recovered from them included 150 Automated Teller Machine, ATM cards of different banks, seven Point of Sale, POS machines, one AK47 rifle with breech number 195-TN9899 and 15 rounds of live ammunition.

A source at the Benue State police command headquarters who confirmed the development to Scudnews on Thursday, said the suspects are being held for alleged criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping and acts of terrorism.
