The police in Lagos have picked up a 51-year-old man identified as Kenneth Mba, for allegedly defiling a girl aged 12.
Mba, a resident of No 11, Olowolagba Stree, Iwaya, Yaba, Lagos, was arrested by the police at Sabo Division following a complaint by the father of the teenage girl, Ude Nwokolo at about 4.pm on Tuesday, April 27.
Sources said the distraught father of the girl whose name was given as Ugochi, had reported to the police that his daughter was lured into a room a few metres away from their home and defiled by the 51-year-old Mba.
Nwokolo had alleged that the illicit act was committed on Monday, April 26, in a room within the Yaba neighbourhood, not far away from No.15 Olowolagba Street, Iwaya, where he resides with his daughter, Ugochi.
The police said the girl was taken to the Mirabel Centre at LASUTH, Ikeja, for medical examination and treatment, while Mba has been taken into custody for commencement of investigation.
