6 Junior Secondary School Students Kidnapped In Abuja

Six students of Gwargwada Junior Secondary school in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, were on Monday, January 15, abducted by a gang of men from the underworld while returning home after classes.

The students who are residents of Dnago community in Gwargwada ward were going home when they were seized by the armed men at about 4pm and whisked away to an unknown destination, Scudnews learned on Thursday.

Reports however indicated that the Chief Gwargwada village alerted the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Rubochi Division of the FCT Police Command on the incident at about 10am on Tuesday, January 16.

Scudnews learned that a combined team of police operatives at Rubuchi, Anti-Kidnapping unit of the FCT command, hunters and vigilantes were promptly deployed for an intensive search and rescue operation around the surrounding bushes, forcing the kidnappers to release five of the students.

The police said efforts are ongoing to rescue the remaining victim.
