Two middle-aged women are telling the police in Ondo State how they came about a six-month-old male child they were perfecting plans to trade off.

The state police command said the women identified as Akintese Seyi and Titi Ikudaisi, were arrested at about 10.30 am on Wednesday, April 21, following a tiff-off. However, Scudnews could not ascertain the name of the baby at the time of filing this report.

It was learnt that the suspects, both of whom hail from Ondo town in the state, had confessed to stealing the baby on Monday, April 19, at Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, from where he was transported to Ondo for sale.

“Investigation is ongoing, but so far, the suspects have confessed to stealing the boy from Odo-Ita Sawmill area of Ilorin, Kwara State, from where they brought him here for sale”, said a senior police officer at the Ondo state police command headquarters who does not want his name mentioned.

He assured that the police will unravel all those involved in the crime and bring them to book.
