Amotekun Operative Arrested For Cruelty to Animal

An operative of the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) also known as Amotekun, has been arrested in Ekiti State for allegedly shooting a cow on the limb while it was grazing.

Scudnews learnt that the security operative identified as Asowo Ayodele was arrested on Monday by the police at the Ifaki Ekiti Outpost of the state police command following a complaint lodged by one Ibrahim Aduagba, an indigene of Iropora Ekiti.

Reliable sources said Aduagba had reported that Ayodele, an operative of Amotekun Oye-Ekiti, shot one of his cows on the limb while he was grazing his cattle along Ifaki-Ayegbaju Ekiti road at about 6.30am on Monday.

Consequently, the Amotekun operative was arrested and detained at the police outpost at Ifaki Ekiti Police Outpost, according to a senior police officer who does not want to be named.

He said if found culpable on completion of investigation, the suspect would be arraigned for cruelty to animal and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
