APC Wins Nasarawa Central Bye- Election.

The All Progressives  Congress (APC) candidate in the last Saturday Nasarawa Central Constituency bye – election, Mr Ismail Danbaba has been declared winner.
The seat became vacant following the dead of the member representing the area in the State House of Assembly, Adamu Suleiman in April 2020.
Declaring the result on Saturday night   at Nasarawa, Headquarter of Nasarawa Local Government Council, the Returning Officer, Mr lIiyasu Umar said the  APC  candidate polled 7,475 votes to defeat the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bage Nuhu, who scored 4,608 votes.
The Returning Officer explained that the bye Election had a total of  12,217 casted votes, out of which 12,083 were valid while 134 were rejected.
The result of the Saturday election was announced at the instance of the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Kwara, Kogi and Nasarawa states, Alhaji Mohammed Haruna.
Prior to the election, the Nasarawa State commissioner of Police, Bola Longe had promised to deploy 491 men of the Force to give cover to the people during and after the process.
The turn out of voters though not encouraging, however, the election was peaceful in the areas visited by our reporter.
