Residents of Piri, a settlement in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, were overwhelmed by terror in the wee hours of Wednesday when a gang of armed men stormed the home of the community head simply identified as Yusuf and shot him dead in the presence of his family.
The bandits also reportedly injured his wife, Hauwa, before disappearing into the darkness with five of his daughters.
A woman resident in the community who does not want her name mentioned said the gunmen invaded the community at midnight on Wednesday, December 8 and unleashed mayhem, leaving blood, pain and sorrow on their trail.
She identified the abducted daughters of the murdered community head as Hassana Yusuf, Adama Yusuf, Zuwaira Yusuf,Jamila Yusuf and Lami Yusuf.
Scudnews learnt that the bandits had left the community with the five female siblings before a team of policemen and vigilante arrived the scene in response to a distress call.
As of the time of filing this report, it could not be ascertained if the gunmen had established contact with the family of the victims but a police source said a search and rescue effort was ongoing.
