Corpses Of 5 Security Personnel Murdered By Hoodlums Recovered in Akwa Ibom

A joint operational security team comprising operatives of the police, Army, Air Force and the Department of State Services (DSS), made a shocking discovery on Wednesday at a criminal hide out in Akwa Ibom State

Five decomposing corpses of security personnel, who were murdered by hoodlums in attacks on security men in the state, were reportedly found in a camp at Esin Udim Local Government Area of the state during a raid at about 7am on Wednesday, April 7.

However, the identities of the slain security officers whose bodies were recovered could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.

Confirming the development, a top security official who graved anonymity, said the recovered bodies were deposited at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

He said investigation has commenced to unravel the perpetrators, while surveillance and patrol has been intensified in the area.
