EFCC Arrests Five Suspected Internet Fraudsters At Ilorin Airport

Operatives of the Ilorin zonal office of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested five suspected internet fraudsters also known as “Yahoo-Yahoo Boys” for offences bordering on cybercrime at the International Airport, Ilorin.

Spokesperson for the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren who identified the suspects as Oladosu Olakunmi Olamilekan, Olaoye Jamiu Olarewaju, Alimi Abiodun, Toheed Muritala and Afolabi Kamaldeen, said the arrest was sequel to intelligence obtained by the Commission about the arrival of the suspects who flew into Ilorin from Lagos on Monday, May 17, 2021.

He said four of the arrested suspects are students of Kwara State University, KWASU, Malete, while the fifth suspect is a student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.

A Mercedes Benz C300, mobile phones and a laptop computer were allegedly recovered from the suspects who, Uwujaren said, would be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are concluded.
