A gang of armed men in military camouflage attacked a Toyota Hiace bus in the wee hours of Wednesday and abducted all the 11 passengers on board, Scudnews has learnt.
Impeccable sources said the incident occurred at about 1.30am August 5, at Gada Biyu, a village along the Obajana-Kabba road in Kogi State.
Adekunle Adekunle, driver of the bus bearing registration number BLF 84 SA was reportedly conveying the 11 passengers from Abuja to Lagos when they ran into the gunmen who forced them to a halt and whisked them into the bush.
Efforts made at ascertaining the identities of the abducted passengers drew blank at the time of filing this report, just as it could not be confirmed if the vehicle was a commercial bus.
Confirming the incident, a senior police officer at the headquarters of the Kogi State police command who does not want to be identified, said “efforts were being made to track the kidnappers and rescue the victims who were all marched into a forest.”
