The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government says the Hong Kong first Chinese Medicine Hospital (CMH) will commence service from the second quarter of 2025.
The HKSAR government said this on Monday at a commissioning ceremony for the hospital.
The Secretary for Food and Health and the representative of the contractor, Sophia Chan and Clement Chen the chairman of the council attended the ceremony.
Chan said that the establishment of the CMH was one of the important milestones in the development of Chinese medicine.
“ The hospital will provide not only quality medical services but also a collaboration network with universities and the Chinese medicine industry and related parties to press ahead with the development of Chinese medicine.

”The services will cover internal medicine, external medicine, gynecology, paediatrics, orthopedics and traumatology, acupuncture and moxibustion as well as special disease services and rehabilitation.
“ The CMH will also adopt an integrated Chinese-Western medicine services model through the collaboration of Chinese medicine and Western medicine practitioners with the former playing the predominant role while providing diagnosis and treatment on specific diseases,’’ she said.
He said that the hospital’s outpatient clinics was expected to serve about 310,000 patients annually if fully commissioned.
