How Robbers Stormed, Took Away ATM In Rivers Varsity Campus

Some armed robbers in the early hours of Wednesday invaded Rivers State University campus and stole an Automated Teller Machine (ATM), belonging to a bank within the school premises.

It was gathered that the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omoni Nnamdi confirmed the incident on Wednesday.

According to Omoni, the robbers were able to gain entry into the institution by putting on Police uniforms.

He said that as soon as the gatemen opened the gate for them, they brought out their guns and ordered the gatemen to kneel down, after which they were tied up.

According to him, the incident occurred early Wednesday, at about 3:00 am.

He said the gunmen carted away with the ATM machine. He said it wasn’t the only thing they stole, according to him, they also stole a shuttle bus parked on the University premises.

He said the Police are working effortlessly to apprehend the robbers and in the process recover the stolen vehicle and ATM machine.
