For jilting him after a sizzling love affair, Ahmed Saka, a resident of Ibadan, Oyo State, set ablaze his estranged lover, Mutiat Oladele and two of her children on Wednesday night.
Reports said the incident occurred at Shogoye, Idi-Arere area, of Ibadan, the sate capital.
Residents said Saka and Mutiat had been lovers before the woman walked out of the relationship for unknown reasons.
Saka had allegedly threatened to end his life and that of Mutiat for ending the relationship with him and allegedly executed the act at midnight on Wednesday, killing himself as well.
It was further learnt that three other children also sustained varying degree of injury as a result of the fire, and are receiving treatment at Anglican Diocese Hospital, Molete.
Olugbenga Fadeyi, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) and spokeperson for the Oyo State police command, confirmed the incident.
He said investigation is ongoing.
