There was confusion around the Wasinmi area in the Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State on Saturday evening as gunmen abduct two travellers on Ife/Ibadan expressway, The Nation learnt.
It was gathered the two travellers were accosted while they were on thier way from Ile-Ife to Ibadan.
The gunmen waylaid them and took them into a nearby bush.
A security source revealed they have arrested three of the perpetrators and efforts were on to arrest others.
When contacted, the spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.
She noted the police have rescued the two abducted victims.
She said: “We deployed our men to the scene of the crime after a distress call and we rescued two victims and arrested three suspects”.
