President Muhammadu Buhari has said the time has come to reverse, completely, the grim and heartbreaking incidents of kidnapping across the country.
He has therefore, charged the police and the armed forces to go after the kidnappers and bring them to justice.
While noting that ransom payments will continue to prosper kidnapping, Buhari expressed joy over the release of abducted female students of Government Girls Science Secondary School, Jangebe, Zamfara State.
“I join the families and people of Zamfara in welcoming and celebrating the release of these traumatized female students”, Buhari said in a statement on Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Shehu Garba.
He added, “Being held in captivity is an agonizing experience not only for the victims, but also their families and all of us”.
However, while celebrating the release of the students, the president called for greater vigilance by the citizenry for human intelligence to be collected early enough to nip the bandits’ plans in the bud.
