LASEMA Launches Additional Communication Channel

Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) on Sunday, said that it had created a WhatsApp platform for the coordination of disaster management within the state.
Dr Olufemi  Oke-Osanyintolu, the Director-General (DG) of the agency, said the platform would allow live location, images and audio clips to be shared between the public and the agency.
Osayintolu in a statement, said the launch was in furtherance of its responsibilities of coordinating disaster management within the state.
“The WhatsApp platform is manned 24/7 and can be reached on: +2347025004985. This line is in addition to the TOLL FREE 767/112 voice service and the local emergency officers located in all the local government areas and the local council development areas of the state. The service is an attempt to additionally cater for another demographic of Lagos, while providing the agency with better information for an improved and targeted response”.
The agency said it would continue to improve its service delivery in line with the Lagos State Government’s agenda to secure the safety of lives and property of residents.
