Man Hacked To Death for Sleeping Out in Delta

There was pandemonium on Monday when a house wife reportedly hacked her husband to death around Kulup street off Ekrejegbo in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the deceased and the wife were having disagreement when the suspect reportedly used cutlass to cut him from behind on the head.

Trouble had started when the deceased who slept out the previous night returned home to the hand of his angry wife on Monday morning.

Disagreement was said to have degenerated into physical battle when the suspect attacked the deceased.
It was gathered that the victim simply identified as Dafe, also known as Best Cartel, sustained severe body cuts before he was rushed to Ughelli Central Hospital by neighbours.

He was pronounced dead by medical personnel at the Accident & Emergency Unit of the hospital.

The woman identified as Mrs. Okiemute Dafe was said to had earlier stabbed the victim before using cutlass on him.

The woman who attempted to run after killing the man was apprehended by youths and neighbours in the area.

Meanwhile, there was tension at the Ughelli Central Hospital when mob attempted to set the woman ablaze after the husband was confirmed dead.

The woman was, however, rescued by police operatives from the Ughelli Police Area Command.

The mob who attempted breaking into the station for the suspect were later dispersed with sporadic gunshots.

When contacted, the Acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.

He confirmed that the woman had been arrested and was currently undergoing interrogation in police custody.
