Names of Victims of Abuja Plane Crash Emerge

The names of the seven officers of the Nigerian Air Force who died in Sunday’s plane crash in Abuja has been revealed.

The deceased lost their lives when the aircraft crash landed immediately after take-off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 10:30am.

The crashed NAF aircraft was said to be heading to Minna, Niger State, when the incident occurred.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Isiaka Oladayo Amao, while confirming the mishap, said all seven personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on board the plane were killed.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, AVM Ibikunle Daramola, made the announcement in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

According to the statement, they are:

-Flt.-Lt. Haruna Gadzama (Captain),

-Flt.- Lt. Henry Piyo (Co-Pilot),

-Flying Officer Micheal Okpara (Airborne Tactical Observation System (ATOS Specialist),

-Warrant Officer Bassey Etim (ATOS Specialist),

-Flight Sergeant Olasunkanmi Olawunmi (ATOS Specialist),

-Sergeant Ugochukwu Oluka (ATOS Specialist) and

-Aircraftman Adewale Johnson (Onboard Technician).
