Ortom Celebrates 60th Birthday With Widows, Physically Challenged Persons, Visits Orphanage Homes

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Friday,  celebrated his  60th birthday anniversary with visit a to orphanage homes, where he donated bags of rice, souvenirs, as well as N100,000 and N50,000 cash each to widows and people with disabilities respectively.
The celebration which was low-keyed, took place at the New Banquet Hall of Government House Makurdi with members of Middle Belt Forum, retired Air Commodore Dan Suleiman, friends, associates, family members, top government functionaries and former local council chairmen.
At the occasion, wife of the governor, Mrs. Eunice Ortom, assisted her husband in donating the cash, food and non food items to hundreds of widows, orphans and people living with disabilities. The governor also disbursed N250,000 each to various orphanage homes that attended the event.
Addressing guests who came to celebrate him, Ortom thanked God for his love, mercies and blessings upon him and asked for more blessings.
Also speaking at the event, his deputy, Mr. Benson Abounu appreciated the Benue people for standing by his boss all through the years and prayed God for more blessings upon his life.
Earlier, the governor, accompanied by his wife and other family members, kicked off his 60th birthday anniversary activities with a Church Service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Gboko Road, Makurdi.
He was also accompanied by his deputy, Mr Benson Abounu, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Titus Uba, Secretary to the Benue State Government, Professor Anthony Ijohor and State Head of Service, Mrs Veronica Onyeke as well as Commissioners, Special Advisers, heads of government agencies as well as other top government functionaries.
