Operatives of the Nigeria Police, Benue State command, on Tuesday, uncovered a mass grave in Katsina – Ala local government area of the state. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the crime.
The two suspects identifed as Aondoaseer Terseer alias Bob Tsetse, and Orkashima David alias Cash – money, were arrested in Osun State where they had relocated after their alleged involvement in various crimes including murder, kidnapping, and armed robbery at Mbamon, Tavachan, Michiche Council ward of the local government area.
The two suspects aged 23 and 22, are said to be secondary school drop – outs and members of a 10-man criminal syndicate terrorising the axis, were said to have led policemen to dry and abandoned wells used as mass grave in which their victims were buried. The suspects had allegedly confessed to have also killed their wives and dumped the bodies in the mass grave.
Among the six decomposing bodies recovered so far are three male and three female, two of whom were murdered in January and April, this year. Bodies of three of the victims were identified as Hon John Nyitamen, Madam Catherine Akiishi and Aondoverb Fidelix.
One of the suspect, Bob Tsetse, had confessed to killing his wife by hacking her with a wood, following a misunderstanding between them.
His partner in crme, Orkashima David, also disclosed that his wife died after he was instigated by his father to pounce on her. He said that he murdered his wife through the help of two of his gang members and buried her in a shallow grave.
