A policeman has been knocked off a bridge in Lagos after traffic regulation officials attempted to arrest a car owner who was flouting the traffic laws. The area where the event unfolded has been identified by a Twitter user as the airport road inward Oshodi.

A video posted by @GIDITRAFFIC shows a LASTMA official trying to open the door of the vehicle whilst the driver was trying to maneuver away from his impending arrest. The driver then made a wild reverse and knocked off another armed police officer off the bridge.

The officials in the background can be heard yelling in terror at the development, and a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) official can be seen wielding the policeman’s gun in a reckless manner; attempting to break the window of the driver with the butt of the gun.
